From the Eight Hour Committee of 1856, the Early Closing Associations and early Arbitration Legislation, our TLC has been front and centre locally, nationally and internationally.
The second oldest surviving Southern Cross flag, flown from Trades Hall on the 3rd December 1942 and carried on the Labour Day Marches at times when the story of Eureka was all but forgotten.
In 1887 the foundation stone was laid for the new Trades Hall building in Camp Street and the building opened in 1888. The building is still used for its intended purpose as the home of Ballarat Unions.
Our Archive Room and Library contains extensive records and information on our Council from 1856, industrial history of our region, Eureka history and political history. For researchers and historians.
